Paper Published in Marine and Petroleum Geology

Working alongside colleagues from Badley Geoscience Ltd and the University of Aberdeen, Badley Ashton's Dr. Thomas Haines has had a paper published in the journal 'Marine and Petroleum Geology'. Entitled "Permeability evolution across carbonate hosted normal faults". The study uses outcrop exposures of normal fault zones hosted in carbonate lithologies to document the evolution of textures in contrasting carbonate lithofacies (wackestones, packstones and pack/grainstones) across two normal fault zones of varying displacement and makes a quantitative assessment of the pore system changes associated with the textural changes. The textural and pore system changes are used to understand the temporal and spatial evolution of permeability.

If you would like more information about either this paper or the entire volume, you can find more information here. If you are interested in seeing some of the other papers and presentations that Badley Ashton staff have produced, please take a look at the staff publications page.
